Weekend in Sun Valley to hike and watch Sawtooth Relay

Katie and I took a weekend trip to Ketchum, ID, more commonly known to most people as Sun Valley, to spend some time outside hiking and to also watch the Sawtooth relay and hang out with Phil and Becca that were on a Sawtooth Relay team. The Sawtooth Relay is a 62 mile road running relay with 6 members per team running 10-12 miles each. This is a huge event, with tons of runners along the highway from Stanley to Ketchum.

Before we checked out the relay race, we went hiking on Murdock Creek Trail north out of Ketchum.

So the story on the t-shirt... So at Mark and Jen's wedding, Jen's sister had bought her that t-shirt, and since she of course no longer needed it after their wedding, she gave it to Katie so she could get some use out of it for a couple more months. Its going to be a while before there will be another girl that can wear that shirt, we're waiting for little Aiden to grow up quite a bit more before we have to give it out again!

So back to the Sawtooth Relay. Its really quite a party. Everybody is out there to have fun, with loud music and strange team uniforms, it was pretty fun. Here is a picture of everybody after the race in the park for the after race party.
